A Lagrangian pictionary (Q2038541): Difference between revisions

Consider the cobordism category \(\mathrm{Cob}^*(M)\) whose objects are immersed and marked Lagrangian submanifolds and morphisms are Lagrangian cobordisms. There is a natural equivalence relation, called cabling equivalence, on the morphisms of \(\mathrm{Cob}^*(M)\). If \(\mathrm{Cob}^*(M)\) satisfies a list of axioms, which are called surgery model (see the second section of the paper), the quotient category is triangulated. The aim of the paper is to show that there are certain classes (defined in the third section of the paper) of exact, marked, unobstructed, immersed Lagrangian submanifolds and, respectively, cobordisms such that the category \(\mathrm{Cob}^*(M)\) has surgery models. The subcategory generated by the embedded Lagrangians is triangulated, isomorphic to derived Fukaya category. This result is stated precisely and proved in Section \(4\) of the paper. Cobordisms are endowed with a natural measurement: there is a class of pseudometrics \(d\) called \textit{fragmentation pseudometrics}, where \(\mathcal{F}\) is a family of object in \(\mathrm{Cob}^*(M)\). It is proved that the category \(\mathrm{Cob}^*(M)\) is strongly rigid, which means roughly that, under some natural constraints on \(\mathcal{F}\) and a second such family \(\mathcal{F}'\), the pseudometrics \(d^{\mathcal{F},\mathcal{F}'}= d^{\mathcal{F}}+ d^{\mathcal{F}}\) are nondegenerate. In the last section, some further technical points and open questions are discussed.
