In the setting of Teichmüller dynamics, the set of directions in which geodesics starting from a given flat surface show a quantified deviation from the expected limit in the Birkhoff or Oseledets theorems is studied. Sets of this form were shown to be null in [\textit{A. Eskin} and \textit{J. Chaika}, J. Mod. Dyn. 9, 1--23 (2015; Zbl 1358.37008)]. Here it is shown that these sets have Hausdorff dimension strictly less than \(1\). It is also shown that the Hausdorff dimension of the directions along which the geodesics diverge on average in a stratum is bounded above by \(\frac12\), which strengthens the work of \textit{H. Masur} [Duke Math. J. 66, No. 3, 387--442 (1992; Zbl 0780.30032)]. Using the close connection between Teichmüller dynamics and interval exchange transformations, results of \textit{A. Avila} and \textit{M. Leguil} [Bull. Soc. Math. Fr. 146, No. 2, 391--426 (2018; Zbl 1402.37002)] on the Hausdorff dimension of certain sets of interval exchange transformations that are not weak mixing are strengthened (allowing, in conjunction with a result due to \textit{J. Chaika} and \textit{H. Masur} [Invent. Math. 222, No. 3, 749--832 (2020; Zbl 1462.37026)], the exact dimension to be found).
