Let \(R=K[x_1,\ldots,x_n], \mathfrak{m}=(x_1,\ldots,x_n)\) where \(K\) is a field. Understanding the defining equations of the Rees algebra of an ideal is one of the central problems in commutative algebra. In this paper, the authors explicitly describe the defining equations of the Rees algebra and the special fiber ring of a truncation \(I\) of a complete intersection ideal in \(R\) (Theorem 3.9, Corollary 3.12). They achieve this by explicitly computing a Gröbner basis of the defining ideal of the Rees algebra \(\mathcal{R}(M)\), (Theorem 2.4) where \(M\) is a direct sum of the powers of \(\mathfrak{m}\). Furthermore, they deduce some instances where \(\mathcal{R}(I)\) is a Koszul algebra.
