The first result of the paper gives an explicit bound on the difference between local and global Kobayashi distances as the points go toward a boundary point with the required geometric properties. The second result of the paper is to provide quantitative versions of estimates for ratios of invariant distances, in the essential case where both points approach the same boundary point, and for differences of invariant distances. Moreover, a sharp localization result in dimension 1 is obtained.
