This paper concerns the blow-up phenomena of the Dirichlet initial boundary value problem for reaction-diffusion equations with a space-time integral source term. The authors study the upper bounds and the lower bounds of the blow-up by virtue of Kaplan's technique and some new properties on the system of differential inequalities. The authors present a number of new techniques of independent interest, including Kaplan's technique, and some new properties on the system of differential inequalities. Moreover, based on blow-up super-solutions and combining the auxiliary function method with the modified differential inequality techniques to obtain lower bounds of the blow-up time given in Theorem 2.2., lower bounds of life span are derived. This non-local model occurs in nuclear reactor dynamics in which \(u\) represents the incremental temperature from the corresponding steady-state zero and the term \[ \int_0^t \int_\Omega u^p(x,s)dxds, \] can be interpreted as the nonlinear energy generated at time \(t\) per unit of time and per unit of volume. If the zero Dirichlet condition in this model is replaced by zero Neumann boundary condition, the lower bound estimates of the blow-up time are also the lower bound estimates of the blow-up time for the zero Neumann initial boundary value problem.
