The authors use the representation in action-angle variables of the Hamilton's equations in the periodic setup for the KdV equation \(\partial_t u = -\partial_x^3 u +6u\partial_x u\) and the second member of the hierarchy (KdV2) \(\partial_t u = \partial_x^5 u-10 u\partial_x^3 u-20 \partial_xu \partial_x^2 u+ 30u^2\partial_x u\), to extend analytically the frequency maps to spaces of low regularity and study their asymptotics. In particular, in the case of the KdV2 equation it is proven that it is globally \({\mathcal C}^0\)-well-posed in \({\mathcal H}^s (\mathbb{R}/\mathbb{Z},\mathbb{R})\) for \(s\geq 0\) and ill-posed in strong sense if \(s<0\).
