The aim of the article is to give a survey of bifurcation phenomena which are typical for non-smooth dynamic systems as they do not occur in smooth dynamic systems. It did not neither discuss in detail the mathematical tools of non-smooth analysis, nor give discussion of a rigorous bifurcation theory for a certain class of non-smooth systems. Here only a small number of well-choosen examples of various kinds of systems is considered, which demonstrate that bifurcations in non-smooth systems are sometimes similar to known bifurcations from classic bifurcation theory in smooth vector fields, but can also be completely different: 1. dynamics of a block-on-belt system as a class of differential inclusions is discussed, which undergoes forced stick-slip oscillations; this example of a non-autonomous Fillipov system shows a remarkable bifurcation behaviour and demonstrates the use of generalized Floquet multipliers; 2. complex dynamics of the Woodpecker Toy, which is governed by frictional impact is analysed with a one-dimensional Poincaré map method; the dynamics is greatly influenced by simultaneous impacts which cause discontinuous bifurcations.
