Let \(\Omega\) be a connected compact Riemannian spin manifold of real dimension \(n+1\) with \(n\)-dimensional smooth boundary \(\Sigma\). Let us suppose that \(\Sigma\) has positive scalar curvature bounded from below by \(-n(n+1)k^2\), with \(k>0\), and that the mean curvature of \(\Sigma\) is positive. If moreover there exists an isometric and isospin immersion of \(\Sigma\) into the hyperbolic space \({\mathbb H}^{(n+1)}_{{-k}^2}\) then the authors define a quasi-local mass, prove its positivity and a rigidity statement. The main tool used in the proof is a holographic principle for the existence of imaginary Killing spinors. In the case \(n=2\), the most interesting from a physical point of view, \(\Omega\) is automatically spin and, under the assumption \(\Sigma\) is a topological sphere, the authors prove that if \(\Omega\) is not isometric to a domain in \({\mathbb H}^{3}_{{-k}^2}\) the energy-momentum \(E(\Sigma)\) is a timelike future directed vector in \(\mathbb R^{3,1}\), moreover \(E(\Sigma)=0\) if and only if \(\Omega\) is a domain in \({\mathbb H}^{3}_{{-k}^2}\) and \(\Sigma\) is connected. Also, under some aditional technical hypothesis, an alternative proof of the Positive Mass Theorem of Wang is obtained.
