The authors study the best optimal exponents in the extensions of the Orlicz inequalities for multilinear forms first initiated by \textit{T. Praciano-Pereira} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 81, 561--568 (1981; Zbl 0497.46007)]. Recall two well-known inequalities valid for bilinear forms, namely, the so-called \((\ell_2,\ell_1)\)-mixed and \((\ell_1,\ell_2)\)-mixed inequalities given by \[\Big(\sum_{j_1=1}^\infty(\sum_{j_2=1}^\infty |A(e_{j_1},e_{j_2})|)^2\Big)^{1/2}\le \sqrt 2 \|A\|\] and \[\sum_{j_1=1}^\infty(\sum_{j_2=1}^\infty |A(e_{j_1},e_{j_2})|^2)^{1/2}\le \sqrt 2 \|A\|\] for all continuous bilinear forms \(A:c_0\times c_0\to \mathbb K\) where \(e_j\) stands for the canonical basis. Denoting \(X_p\) the sequence space \(\ell_p\) or \(c_0\) for \(1\le p<\infty\) or \(p=\infty\), the authors study the best values of \((q_1,\dots, q_{m-1})\in (0,\infty]^{m-1}\) and \((p_1,\dots, p_{m})\in [1,\infty]^{m}\) for the validity of inequalities such that \[\Big(\sum_{j_1=1}^\infty(\sum_{j_2=1}^\infty \dots (\sum_{j_m=1}^\infty |A(e_{j_1},\dots, e_{j_m})|^{p^*_m})^{q_{m-1}/p^*_m}\dots )^{q_1/q_2}\Big)^{1/q_1}\le C_{p_1,\dots,p_m} \|A\|\] for all continuous \(m\)-linear forms \(A:X_{p_1}\times \dots\times X_{p_m}\to \mathbb K\) where \(p^*\) stands for the conjugate exponent. The main theorem is proved showing first a previous result for \(m\)-linear forms \(A:X_{p_1}\times \dots\times X_{p_m}\to Y\), where \(Y\) is a Banach space, which actually extends some previously known case where \(1/p_1+\dots+ 1/p_m<1/\operatorname{cot} Y\) where \(\operatorname{cot} Y\) stands which for the Rademacher cotype of \(Y\) (see [\textit{R. M. Aron} et al., Linear Algebra Appl. 531, 399--422 (2017; Zbl 1492.47005)]).
