Let \(X\) be an arbitrary real Banach space and let \(T: X\to X\) be a mapping with a nonempty set of fixed points. The notions of \(T\)-stable and almost \(T\)-stable iterative schemes involving \(T\) were introduced in [\textit{A. M. Harder} and \textit{T. L. Hicks}, Math. Jap. 33, No. 5, 693--706 (1988; Zbl 0655.47045) and \textit{M. O. Osilike}, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 227, No. 2, 319--334 (1998; Zbl 0934.47039)]. In the paper under review, the author considers an iterative scheme involving a \(\varphi\)-strong pseudocontraction \(T\) with respect to a suitable nonnegative function \(\varphi\) defined on the set of nonnegative real numbers. He gets, under suitable conditions about the involved entities, a generalization about the stability of several formerly obtained iterative schemes.
