Hermitian structures on a class of almost nilpotent solvmanifolds (Q2168843): Difference between revisions

In this extensive (65 pages) article some geometric structures and constructions on almost nilpotent Lie algebras and Lie groups are considered, as well as on the corresponding compact solvmanifolds. A Lie algebra is called almost nilpotent if it has a nilpotent ideal of codimension 1. On such Lie algebras and corresponding Lie groups some Hermitian metrics are considered, which are generalizations of the Kähler metrics -- they are balanced metrics and strong Kähler with torsion metrics (SKT). The SKT condition is one of the most studied generalizations of the Kähler condition. The existence of invariant SKT, balanced and generalized Kähler structures on compact quotients \(G/\Gamma\), where \(G\) is an almost nilpotent Lie group, whose nilradical has one-dimensional commutator, and \(\Gamma\) is a lattice in \(G\), are considered. A characterization of Hermitian almost nilpotent Lie algebras whose nilradical has one-dimensional commutator is given. Also some classification results in real dimension 6 are presented. In particular, a classification of 6-dimensional strongly unimodular almost nilpotent Lie algebras in the case when nilradical has one-dimensional commutator, which admits complex structures. Then, for compact quotients \(G/\Gamma\), admitting SKT or balanced structures, the behaviour of sych structures under some flows are considered. A constructions of new examples of compact SKT manifolds are given. Some non-existence results for generalized Kähler structures in real dimension 6 are proved. In higher dimension the first examples of non-split generalized Kähler structures (i.e., such that the associated complex structures do not commute) on almost abelian Lie algebras are constructed. This gives new compact non-Kähler manifolds admitting non-split generalized Kähler structures.
