Quasi-multiplicativity of typical cocycles (Q2187284): Difference between revisions

The author studies the thermodynamic formalism of linear cocycles over two-sided subshifts of finite type. The motivating problem is to understand to what extent the Bowen's existence theorem and the Gibbs property can be generalized to the case of subadditive potentials. Related to this problem, the author addresses the question of whether the quasi-multiplicative property holds for cocycles that are more general than locally constant cocycles. The author proves that the latter property holds for the class of fiber-bunched cocycles. In simple words, he proves that the cocycle is nearly conformal and it contains the class of locally constant cocycles. Several other related results and applications are obtained. Among them we mention: properties of repellers, properties of the pointwise Lyapunov spectrum, multifractal analysis on the level sets of pointwise Lyapunov exponents.
