Let \(G\) be an \(H\)-type group, i.e., connected and simply connected group which is stratified of Step 2 as the Heisenberg groups. The authors develop the calculus of semi-classical pseudodifferential operators on \(G\). It is proved that the operators are bounded in the space of square integrable functions. Moreover symbolic calculus for the operator is developed. Furthermore, the authors analyse the semi-classical measures, also called Wigner measures, of bounded families of square integrable functions which consist of a pair formed by a measure defined on the product of the group and its unitary dual, and by a field of trace class positive operators acting on the Hilbert spaces of the representations. The concentration effects of the measures in space variables are emphasizing, as well as an oscillation properties that are interpreted as concentration in Fourier variables, including concentration on finite-dimensional representations. The theory is illustrated by several examples, which show in particular that this semi-classical analysis takes into account the finite-dimensional representations of the group.
