The main aim of this paper is to prove the validity of the following statement for a sublaplacian \(L\) on a connected Lie group \(G\) of polynomial growth: ``If \(F : \mathbb{R}^+_0 \rightarrow \mathbb{C}\) is continuous and \(K_F (L) \in \mathcal{S}(G)\), then \(F \in \mathcal{S}(\mathbb{R}^+_0)\).'' It is worth noting that the converse of this statement was shown by \textit{A. Hulanicki} [Stud. Math. 78, 253--266 (1984; Zbl 0595.43007)]. In this paper, the authors have proved above statement for several classes of connected Lie groups of polynomial growth including all solvable noncompact groups of polynomial growth. They have also discuss the problem whether integrability of \(K_F(L)\) implies continuity of \(F\). The paper is well-written.
