Let \(\mathcal{M}:=(M,g)\) be a connected closed compact Riemannian manifold which admits an isometric and effective action by a compact Lie group. The authors examine the spectral and ergodic properties of the Schrödinger operator and derive an equivalent version of Weyl's law with an appropriate remainder estimate. They use a semi-classical functional calculus and relevant results in singular equivariant asymptotics. They also derive an equivariant quantum ergodicity theorem under suitable assumptions. Section 1 provides an introduction to the subject. Background on semi-classical analysis is provided in Section 2 and background on symplectic reduction and ergodicity is provided in Section 3. Section 4 treats singular equivariant asymptotics, Section 5 exhibits an equivariant semi-classical trace formula, and Section 6 gives a generalized equivariant semi-classical Weyl law. Section 7 deals with equivariant quantum ergodicity and Section 8 deals with equivariant quantum limits for the Laplacian. Applications are presented in Section 9.
