A subgroup \(H\) of a finite group \(G\) is said to satisfy the Ore supplement condition if \(G\) has normal subgroups \(T\) and \(S\) such that \(G=HT\), \(S\leq H\) and \(H\cap T\leq S\), or equivalently, if \(H/H_G\) has a normal complement in \(G/H_G\). It was discovered that many classes of finite groups, such as the class of soluble, supersoluble, nilpotent, \(p\)-nilpotent, metanilpotent groups, etc., can be characterized in terms of the Ore supplement condition or in terms of some generalized Ore supplement conditions. Although these conditions are quite different, there are a lot of similar results, which the authors have tried to unify with a common pattern by introducing new concepts related to supplement conditions and subgroups functors. The precise definitions and statements are, however, too long to be described here. Roughly speaking, the authors study the structure of a group \(G\) under the condition that some primary subgroups of \(G\) are supplemented in \(G\) in a specific way. The results in this paper not only cover and unify a long list of some known results but also provide a series of new properties.
