The second author of the paper under review has constructed in [J. Algebra 466, 229--283 (2016; Zbl 1405.17055)] analogues of the groups of Grigorchuk and of Gupta-Sidki in the realm of Lie superalgebras in arbitrary characteristic. The goal of the paper under review is to exhibit an example of a \(2\)-generated self-similar, fractal Lie superalgebra \(R\) over an arbitrary field, which is easier to deal with. Here, the authors use the term fractal to mark the fact that these algebras contain infinitely many copies of themselves. The superalgebra \(R\) has many interesting properties. Monomial bases of both \(R\) and its associative hull \(A\) can be explicitly described. Both \(R\) and \(A\) are \(\mathbb{Z}^{2}\) multigraded in the generators; the components of \(R\) are at most one-dimensional. The homogeneous elements are ad-nilpotent. \(R\) is just-infinite but not hereditarily so. \(R\) has linear growth and finite width.
