The authors discuss some aspects of regularity of solutions of parabolic and parabolic-elliptic systems modelling chemotaxis. These systems feature cross-diffusion effects which makes difficult their analysis of regularity. Techniques for blow-up detection are reviewed (including transformation to scalar parabolic equations, moment-based detection, and energy arguments) as well as qualitative analysis of solutions near blow-up is shown on typical examples.
