Let \(k\) be a field, \(l=n\) if \(n\) is odd, \(l=n/2\) if \(n\) is even, and \(n\) at least 5. Let \(G\) be a finite-dimensional semisimple simple laced Lie algebra and \(q\) a primitive \(n\)-th root of unity, with associated Cartan matrix \(C\). The authors give an associated quantum algebra \((u_q)(C)\). The restricted quantum group of Lusztig is a quotient of \((u_q)(C)\) [\textit{G. Lusztig}, J. Am. Math. Soc. 3, No.~1, 257--296 (1990; Zbl 0695.16006); \textit{I. Gordon}, J. Algebra 220, No.~2, 381--395 (1999; Zbl 0961.17007)]. The aim of the paper under review is to describe \((u_q)(C)\), which is a Hopf algebra, via quivers. For the quiver \(Q\) coming from the pair \((C, Z_n)\), \textit{C. Cibils} showed that the path algebra \(kQ\) is a Hopf algebra [Int. Math. Res. Not. 1997, No.~12, 541--553 (1997; Zbl 0881.17009)]. Let \(Q^*\) be the double quiver of \(Q\), i.e., adding a reverse arrow for every arrow of \(Q\). The authors consider a quotient algebra \(P^C\) of \(kQ^*\), and show that it is a Hopf algebra. Then they construct a Hopf ideal \(J\) of \(P^C\), with quotient denoted \((u_q)^C\). The main result of the paper is that \((u_q)^C\) and \((u_q)(C)\) are isomorphic as Hopf algebras.
