The authors are mainly concerned with eigenvalue bounds for the fractal generalized second-order Laplacian operator \(\Delta_\mu\) under both Dirichlet and Neumann boundary conditions on some bounded interval \([a,b]\). In case of Dirichlet condition, they first prove a Liapunov-type inequality of the form: \[ \frac{4}{b-a}\le\int_a^b\vert w(x)\vert d\mu(x). \] Then they obtain bounds for the first eigenvalue, when the measure \(\mu\) is a Bernoulli convolution. They also consider bounds for higher-order eigenvalues.
