Compressible Euler equations with vacuum

From MaRDI portal

The authors show that the regular solutions of the initial-boundary value problem of compressible Euler equations with damping will not be global if the initial density function has compact support. Then they study the local existence of solutions for compressible isentropic gas flow in one dimension. The proof is based on energy and characteristics methods.
