On the shape of a tridiagonal pair (Q1044558)

Let \(V\) be a vector space over a field and \(V^*\) its dual space. The authors define the important notion of tridiagonal pair on \(V\) as a pair of linear transformations on this vector space, satisfying some four conditions. The important result is the following Theorem 1.3. The shape \(\{\rho_i\}_{i=0}^d\) of a tridiagonal pair satisfies \(\rho_i\leq\rho_0{d\choose i}\) for \(0\leq i\leq d\).
