The Bishop-Phelps-Bollobás property for pairs of Banach spaces was introduced by \textit{M. D. Acosta} et al. [J. Funct. Anal. 254, No. 11, 2780--2799 (2008; Zbl 1152.46006)]. A pair $(X,Y)$ has this property if, for every $\varepsilon>0$, there exists $\eta>0$ such that, whenever $T\in L(X,Y)$ with $\|T\|=1$ and $x\in X$ with $\|x\|=1$ satisfy $\|Tx\|> 1 - \eta$, there exist $y\in X$ with $\|y\|=1$ and $S\in L(X,Y)$ with $\|S\|=1$ such that $\|S y\|=1$, $\|x-y\|<\varepsilon$, and $\|T-S\|<\varepsilon$. The property was tackled by several researchers, but even for pairs of classical Banach spaces there is no complete description. In particular, it is unknown whether the pair $(c_0, \ell_1)$ of real Banach spaces enjoys this property. \par The paper under review gives a geometrical description of those spaces $Y$ for which the pair $(\ell_\infty^4, Y)$ has the Bishop-Phelps-Bollobás property. It is demonstrated that all finite-dimensional spaces, uniformly convex spaces, $C_0(L)$ and $L_1(\mu)$ are among such spaces. Quantitative estimates are also given.
