Given a quandle \(Q\) and an associative ring \(R\) with a unit, one can construct a (non-associative) quandle ring \(R[Q]\) in a way analogous to the construction of group rings. The authors investigate various properties of quandle rings. For example, quandle rings are almost never power associative, and a quandle ring \(R[Q]\) is noetherian whenever \(R\) is noetherian and \(Q\) is finite. Other results include the isomorphism problem for quandle rings and the structure of ideals for several special types of quandles.
