The following question, raised by \textit{H. H. Corson} [Fundam. Math. 49, 143--145 (1961; Zbl 0096.31203)]: ``Is it possible to cover every Banach space \(X\) by bounded convex sets with non-empty interior in such a way that no point of \(X\) belongs to infinitely many of them?'', is answered in the affirmative. It is shown that, in fact, every Banach space \(X\) can be covered by bounded convex closed sets with non-empty interior (tiles) such that the interiors are pairwise disjoint and no point of \(X\) belongs to more than two tiles. In order to demonstrate this, the authors first construct such a tiling for \(\ell_\infty(\Gamma)\) and then embed \(X\) isomorphically into \(\ell_\infty(\Gamma)\) in such a clever way that the intersection of every tile with the image \(T(X)\) of \(X\) has non-empty relative interior in \(T(X)\).
