The set of unbounded, continuous and integrable functions on \([0,\infty)\) is non-void; a nice explicit example of a prototype of such functions is presented in the beginning of the paper. How about the linear and algebraic size of this set? The main goal of the paper is to answer these and related questions. More precisely, the authors investigate lineability/algebrability properties of the set \[ \mathcal{A}=\left\{ f\in C([0,\infty))\cap L^{1}([0,\infty)):\limsup_{x\rightarrow\infty}\left\vert f(x)\right\vert =\infty\right\} . \] For instance, they prove that \(\mathcal{A}\) is maximal dense-lineable and strongly-algebrable. The authors also investigate the algebraic size of the set of sequences of these functions converging to zero in a certain sense. In the final section, the authors introduce and explore the following concept in the context of the subject of the paper: let \(\alpha:[0,\infty)\rightarrow\lbrack1,\infty)\) be a continuous and nondecreasing function. A function \(f\in C([0,\infty))\) has growth \(\alpha\) if \[ \limsup_{x\rightarrow\infty}\frac{\left\vert f(x)\right\vert}{\alpha (x)}=\infty. \] With this notion in mind, combined with some interesting arguments, they improve the results of the previous sections of the paper. For instance, they show that the family \(A(\alpha)\) of continuous and integrable functions in \([0,\infty)\) with growth \(\alpha\) is maximal dense-lineable and strongly algebrable.
