Summary: In this note we show that sufficiently collapsed, irreducible and aspherical Alexandrov 3-spaces are homeomorphic to 3-manifolds. As a corollary we obtain the validity of the Borel conjecture for sufficiently collapsed, irreducible and aspherical Alexandrov 3-spaces.
