The quiver Hecke algebra (also known as the Khovanov-Lauda-Rouquier algebra) is a graded algebra which is a far generalization of the symmetric group algebra. One of the most important feature of the quiver Hecke algebra is that it categorifies the negative part of the quantum group. Namely, the Grothendieck ring of the category of finite-dimensional graded modules over the quiver Hecke algebra is isomorphic to the dual of the negative part of the quantum group. When the quantum group is of type ADE, the latter specializes to the coordinate ring of the unipotent subgroup of the corresponding Lie group as the quantum parameter \(q\) goes to \(1\). On the other hand, in the representation theory of quantum affine algebras, Hernandez and Leclerc introduced a category of modules over the quantum affine algebra of type ADE whose Grothendieck ring is isomorphic to the coordinate ring of the unipotent subgroup. The results above suggest that there is a deep connection between certain module categories of the quiver Hecke algebra and the quantum affine algebra. Such a connection has been clarified by several authors. Namely, the two categories are equivalent to each other. In the article under review, the author proves this fact in a purely algebraic way. The method is a far generalization of the classical Schur-Weyl duality. Since his argument is algebraic, the author is able to obtain the result in full generality in a unified way.
