The author presents a list of 33 problems in seven different areas of low-dimensional dynamical systems theory. Many of these involve differential equations in the plane. These are problems that the author has identified in the course of his research. He presents them with the hope that this will lead to solutions or substantial progress. The seven areas that are considered include questions about: the maximum number of limit cycles for differential equations in low-dimension; the period functions for families of planar systems; planar piecewise systems; global asymptotic stability; geometry-related systems (such as triangular billiards and extensions of Poncelet's theorem for ellipses); systems involving polynomials; and finally more general questions that involve some aspect of dynamical systems (such as Singmaster's conjecture). The author provides good background information for each of the problems as well as an extensive bibliography.
