When studying Selmer groups in the background of Iwasawa theory, it is desirable to show that these Selmer groups have no proper \(\Lambda\)-submodules of finite index or, equivalently, that their Pontryagin duals have no nontrivial finite \(\Lambda\)-submodules, where \(\Lambda\) is an appropriate \(p\)-adic Iwasawa algebra for a prime number \(p\). Such non-existence theorems have played a crucial role in certain strategies for proving cases of the Iwasawa Main Conjecture, and they have been intensively studied in great generality, although many specific cases of interest remain to be open. \textit{M. Bertolini} [Compos. Math. 99, No. 2, 153--182 (1995; Zbl 0862.11043); J. Théor. Nombres Bordx. 13, No. 1, 1--25 (2001: Zbl 1061.11058)] addressed this question for the Selmer groups attached to rational elliptic curves with good ordinary reduction at a prime \(p\) along the anticylotomic \(\mathbb{Z}_p\)-extension of a suitable imaginary quadratic field \(K\) , which is the unique \(\mathbb{Z}_p\)-extension of \(K\) that is Galois and non-abelian over \(\mathbb{Q}\). The authors of this work generalize this result to the plus and minus Selmer groups (in the sense of Kobayashi) of \(p\)-supersingular elliptic curves. In particular, in their setting the plus/minus Selmer groups have \(\Lambda\)-corank one, so they are not \(\Lambda\)-cotorsion. As an application of their main theorem, they prove results in the vein of \textit{R. Greenberg} and \textit{V. Vatsal} [Invent. Math. 142, No. 1, 17--63 (2000; Zbl 1032.11046)] on Iwasawa invariants of \(p\)-congruent elliptic curves, extending to the supersingular case results for \(p\)-ordinary elliptic curves due to \textit{J. Hatley} and \textit{A. Lei} [J. Number Theory 229, 342--363 (2021; Zbl 1480.11139)].
