A conjecture due to P. Sarnak states that every bounded deterministic sequence \(f:\mathbb{N}\to\mathbb{C}\) is orthogonal to the Möbius function, that is \(\sum_{n<N}\mu(n)f(n)=o(N)\). In the paper under review, the authors confirm this conjecture for the Thue-Morse sequence. They also generalize their result to all complex valued strongly \(b\)-multiplicative functions of modulus \(1\), by proving that is \(g\) is such a function, and if \(b\geq 2\) is a given integer, then \(\sum_{n<N}\mu(n)g(n^2)=o(N)\).
