In this paper the authors study the boundedness of the Bergman projection on \(L^p(\Omega)\) for bounded domains \(\Omega\subset\mathbb{C}^n\) covered by the unit polydisc \(\mathbb{D}^n\) of \(\mathbb{C}^n\). The main result states that if \(\Phi:\mathbb{D}^n\to \Omega\) is a surjective proper rational holomorphic mapping, then the Bergman projection on \(\Omega\) is \(L^p(\Omega)\)-bounded for \(p\in (r,r')\). Here, \(r<2\) and \(r'>2\) are two conjugate exponents depending on the map \(\Phi\). This result can be applied to the \(n\)-symmetrized polydisc \[ \mathbb{G}^n= \left\{ z=\Big(\sum_{j=1}^n w_j,\,\sum_{j < k}w_jw_k, \, \sum_{j < k < l} w_jw_kw_l,\, \cdots,\, w_1w_2\cdots w_n\Big) \in\mathbb{C}^n:\,w\in\mathbb{D}^n \right\}, \] and also to the Hartogs triangle with exponent \(\gamma>0\) defined by \[ \mathbb{H}^\gamma=\{(z_1,z_2)\in\mathbb{C}^2: |z_1|^\gamma<|z_2|<1\}. \]
