\textit{A.V. Arhangel'skii} [Commentat. Math. Univ. Carol. 29, 611--629 (1988; Zbl 0676.54001)] introduced the following notion: if \(\mathcal P\) is a topological property, then a space \(X\) is called projectively \(\mathcal P\) if each second countable continuous image of \(X\) has \(\mathcal P\). In [Cubo 8, No. 2, 23--31 (2006; Zbl 1116.54013)], the reviewer studied projective versions of classical selection properties of Menger, Hurewicz, Rothberger and Gerlitz-Nagy and gave their characterizations in terms of continuous images in the space \(\mathbb R^{\omega}\). The author of this paper extends this study to a number of selection principles (some of them are new) and gives their characterizations by properties of the function space \(C_p(X)\) of all continuous real-valued functions on \(X\) with the pointwise topology. For example, projective versions of the selection principles \(S_1(\Gamma, \mathcal O)\), \(S_1(\Gamma, \Omega)\), \(S_1(\Gamma, \Gamma)\), \(S_{\mathrm{fin}}(\Gamma, \mathcal O)\), \(S_{\mathrm{fin}}(\Gamma, \Omega)\) are discussed and characterized.
