Inspired by the works of \textit{C. Bénéteau} et al. [Can. Math. Bull. 61, No. 4, 704--716 (2018; Zbl 1419.46023)] and \textit{D. Seco} [Complex Anal. Oper. Theory 13, No. 4, 1653--1659 (2019; Zbl 1421.30077)], the author was attracted to the very tempting field of weighted spaces, where there is still a lot of things to do. A general weighted Hilbert space \(\mathcal{H}^2_\omega\) corresponding to the weight \(\omega=\{\omega_n\}_{n\ge0}\) of real numbers is defined on the set of all power series \(f=\sum_{n=0}^\infty a_nz^n\) considering the scalar product \(\left\langle f,g\right\rangle =\sum_{n=0}^\infty\omega_na_n\overline{b_n}\), where \(g=\sum_{n=0}^\infty b_nz^n\). If \(\lim_{n\rightarrow\infty}\frac{\omega_{n+1}}{\omega_n}=1\), then each \(f\in\mathcal{H}^2_\omega\) is holomorphic, and the bounded operator \(M_z\) of multiplication by \(z\) is a weighted forward shift of multiplicity one. According to the choice of the weight \(\omega\), various weighted spaces are obtained. If \(\omega_n=\frac{1}{n+1}\), then \(\mathcal{H}^2_\omega\) is the Bergman space \(A^2\). If \(\omega_n=n+1\), then \(\mathcal{H}^2_\omega\) coincides with the Dirichlet space \(\mathcal{D}\) of holomorphic functions on the unit disk for which \(\|f\|^2_\mathcal{D}=\|f\|^2_{H^2}+\|f'\|^2_{A^2}<\infty\). A lot of other notions are recalled in the first part of the paper, as multipliers, inner functions, invariant subspaces and their properties. An \(\mathcal{H}^2_\omega\)-inner function is defined by \(\|f\|_{\mathcal{H}^2_\omega}=1\) and \(\left\langle z^mf,f\right\rangle =0\) for all integer \(m\ge 1\). After studying some properties for \(\mathcal{H}^2_\omega\)-inner functions, especially satisfying some modified expansive and contractive multiplier property, a method to construct analogues of finite Blaschke products is provided for \(\mathcal{H}^2_\omega\). Using reproducing kernel methods it is also shown that there exists a unique inner function that can be written as a linear combination of prescribed reproducing kernels and their derivatives. The paper ends with some examples in the Hardy and Bergman spaces which show the generality of the obtained results.
