The author considers the decay rate of the Stokes operator norm with homogeneous Dirichlet or homogeneous Neumann-type boundary conditions. He also shows optimality of this rate. Moreover, he continues the study of \textit{Z. Shen} [Arch. Ration. Mech. Anal. 205, No. 2, 395--424 (2012; Zbl 1320.76029)] of the Stokes resolvent problem. By a generalized version of Shen's $L^p$-extrapolation theorem, the optimal resolvent estimates and gradient estimates with homogeneous Neumann-type boundary conditions are obtained.
