The authors prove the nonexistence of positive solutions to a nonlinear integral equation related to the Hardy-Sobolev inequality. The equivalence between the integral equation and a partial differential equation is also discussed. A prominent role in the proofs is played by the method of moving planes and the Kelvin transform.
