    This paper studies the fractional type Marcinkiewicz operators defined by \[ \mu_{\Omega,\rho,\alpha,q} f(x)=\left( \int_0^\infty \left| \frac{1}{t^{\rho+\alpha}} \int_{B(t)} f(x-y) \frac{\Omega(y/|y|)}{|y|^{n-\rho}} dy \right|^q \frac{dt}{t} \right)^{1/q}, \] where \(\Omega\) is assumed to satisfy the cancellation condition \[ \int_{S^{n-1}} \Omega(y')d\sigma(y')=0. \] Let \(\dot{F}^\alpha_{pq}(\mathbb{R}^n)\), with \(\alpha \in \mathbb{R}\) and \(p,q \in (1,\infty)\), denote the Triebel-Lizorkin spaces. Let \(\tilde{p}=\max\{p,p/(p-1)\}\). The paper proves the boundedness of the operator \(\mu\) from \(\dot{F}^\alpha_{pq}(\mathbb{R}^n)\) to \(L^p(\mathbb{R}^n)\); a different hypothesis on \(\Omega\) is needed for different values of the parameter \(\alpha\): {Theorem 1.} Let \(\rho>0\), \(1<p,q<\infty\) and \(\Omega \in L^1(S^{n-1})\). {\parindent=6mm \begin{itemize} \item[(i)] If \(\alpha \in (0,4/(\tilde{p}\tilde{q}))\), then \[ \| \mu_{\Omega,\rho,\alpha,q} f \|_{L^p(\mathbb{R}^n)} \leq C \|\Omega\|_{L^1(S^{n-1})} \|f\|_{\dot{F}^\alpha_{pq}(\mathbb{R}^n)}. \] \item [(ii)] If \(\alpha=0\) and \(\Omega \in L \log L(S^{n-1})\), then \[ \|\mu_{\Omega,\rho,\alpha,q} f \|_{L^p(\mathbb{R}^n)} \leq C \|\Omega\|_{L \log(L) (S^{n-1})} \|f\|_{\dot{F}^\alpha_{pq}(\mathbb{R}^n)}. \] \item [(iii)] If \(\alpha \in (-\min\{\frac{4\beta}{\tilde{p}\tilde{q}},\rho\},0)\), and \[ Z_\Omega:=\sup_{\xi' \in S^{n-1}} \int_{S^{n-1}} \frac{|\Omega(y')|}{|y' \cdot \xi' |^\beta} d \sigma(y') < +\infty, \] then \[ \|\mu_{\Omega,\rho,\alpha,q} f \|_{L^p(\mathbb{R}^n)} \leq C Z_\Omega\|f\|_{\dot{F}^\alpha_{pq}(\mathbb{R}^n)}. \] \end{itemize}} This extends a previous work by \textit{J. Chen} et al. [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 276, No. 2, 691--708 (2002; Zbl 1018.42009)]. In fact, Theorem 1 is a particular case of a more general theorem proved in the same paper for a generalization of the above operator, associated to a surface \(\{(x,y): x=\phi(|y|)y'\}\).
