Selfinjective algebras of strictly canonical type have been investigated by the authors in previous papers [\textit{M. Kwiecień} and \textit{A. Skowroński}, Colloq. Math. 116, No. 1, 47-103 (2009; Zbl 1228.16016); ibid. No. 2, 249-271 (2009; Zbl 1229.16009)]. They are finite dimensional selfinjective algebras (over an algebraically closed field \(K\)) isomorphic to orbit algebras of the form \(\widehat B/G\), where \(\widehat B\) is a repetitive category of a branch extension of a Ringel canonical algebra. Let \(R\) be an indecomposable, triangular, selfinjective, locally bounded \(K\)-category, \(G\) an admissible infinite cyclic group of \(K\)-automorphisms of \(R\) and \(A=R/G\) the associated selfinjective orbit algebra. The main theorem of the paper asserts that \(A\) is selfinjective of strictly canonical type if and only if its Auslander-Reiten quiver \(\Gamma_A\) satisfies certain conditions, which can be expressed by saying that the quasi-tubes in \(\Gamma_A\) are maximally saturated by simple and projective modules, with some natural additional conditions.
