The authors derive lower bounds for the blow-up time for the doubly parabolic quasilinear system of chemotaxis with nonlinear diffusion coefficient and nonlinear chemotactic sensitivity function, extending results in [\textit{J. R. Anderson} and \textit{K. Deng}, Nonlinear Anal., Theory Methods Appl., Ser. A, Theory Methods 159, 2--9 (2017; Zbl 1367.35043)] and [\textit{Y. Tao} and \textit{S. Vernier Piro}, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 436, No. 1, 16--28 (2016; Zbl 1331.35167)]. This system is considered in bounded, not necessarily convex domains, and supplemented with the homogeneous Neumann conditions.
