In the paper under review, the authors prove that a tensor product of nonexceptional type Kirillov-Reshetikhin crystals with mixed levels is isomorphic to a direct sum of Demazure crystals, up to certain 0-arrows, without the perfectness assumption. Those 0-arrows are called non-level \(\ell\) (dual) Demazure arrows. This result generalizes \textit{K. Naoi}'s result [J. Algebra 374, 1--26 (2013; Zbl 1323.17019)], in which there is the perfectness assumption. Based on this result, the authors show that, given two tensor products of Kirillov-Reshetikhin crystals \(B\) and \(B'\) with the same maximal weight and of level bounded by \(\ell\), the connected components containing the corresponding minimal elements are isomorphic, up to certain 0-arrows. This allows to reduce a tensor product of higher level perfect Kirillov-Reshetikhin crystals to one of level 1 Kirillov-Reshetikhin crystals, which is on a line of research for uniform models of Kirillov-Reshetikhin crystals. The authors then interpret the Q-system relations combinatorially using the above results.
