The stability of the fast orthogonal wavelet transform in one space dimension is investigated. Stability bounds with respect to the \(L^\infty\) norm are derived for the specific case of Daubechies wavelets, for both the wavelet decomposition and the reconstruction. Numerical examples illustrate the theoretical results.
