The authors identify a class of \(C^{*}\)-algebra bundles for which they are able to establish an analogue of the Leray-Serre spectral sequence. As the example of the discrete, rank-three Heisenberg group \(C^{*}\)-algebra shows, these bundles are far from being locally trivial. However, with respect to any (co)homology theory (for example, \(K\)-theory) to which the spectral sequence applies, these bundles have trivial bundles of (co)homology groups on the image of any simplex continuously mapped to the bundle's base. The principal noncommutative torus bundles introduced by the authors [\textit{S. Echterhoff, R. Nest} and \textit{H. Oyono-Oyono}, Proc. Lond. Math. Soc. (3) 99, No. 1, 1--31 (2009; Zbl 1176.19003)] are examples of bundles to which the results in the paper under review apply. Using ideas suggested by the Baum-Connes conjecture, the authors give other examples of crossed products to which the Leray-Serre spectral sequence applies.
