Lagrangian fiber bundles \(F\hookrightarrow (M,\omega)\to B\) are \(2n\)-dimensional symplectic manifolds where the fibers are Lagrangian submanifolds, i.e., \(\omega\) restricted to \(F\) is zero and \(\dim F=n\). Liouville, Mineur and Arnol'd provided a semi-global symplectic classification of Lagrangian bundles. Markus, Meyer and Duistermaat showed that the fibers and base space of a Lagrangian bundle are natural integral affine manifolds (admitting an atlas with changes of coordinates that can be extended to affine transformations of \(\mathbb{R}^n\) that preserve the \(\mathbb{R}^n/\mathbb{Z}^n\) lattices). Dazord and Delzant showed that the obstruction function to construction of a Lagranian bundle over a fixed integral affine manifold is a cohomological obstruction to the existence of an appropriate symplectic structure on the total space. In this paper, the author reinterprets this obstruction as the vanishing of a differential in a Leray-Serre spectral sequence. In the process, the author identifies the obstruction as a cohomological invariant of the integral affine structure of the base space known as the radiant obstruction, previously studied by Goldman and Hirsch.
