Consider the integral equation \[ u(x) = R(x) W_{\beta,p}(|y|^au^q(y))(x),\tag{1} \] where \(R\) is bounded above and below by positive constants, and \(W_{\beta,p}\) is the Wolff potential, that is, for a positive function \(f\in L_{\text{loc}}^1(\mathbb{R}^n)\), \[ W_{\beta,p}(f)(x) = \int_0^\infty \left[ \frac{1}{t^{n-p\beta}}\int_{B_t(x)} f(y) \;dy\right]^\frac{1}{p-1} \frac{dt}{t}. \] For various values of the parameters, the paper discusses non-existence (Liouville-type results) and existence of positive solutions. In the case when positive solutions exist, the integrability of the solutions and the rate of decay as \(|x|\to \infty\) is analyzed. The integral equations (1) are related to quasilinear partial differential equations (pde) \[ \mathcal{A}u:= -\text{div} A(x,\nabla u) = |x|^a u^q(x), \;\;\;u>0 \;\;\text{ in } \;\;\mathbb{R}^n. \] Based on the results on the integral equation (1), existence and properties of positive weak solutions of the pde are inferred.
