The authors consider the third order-integro differential equation given by \[ \alpha u'''(t)+u''(t)= \beta A u(t)+ +\beta \int_ {-\infty}^{t} a(t-s) Au(s)ds + \gamma B u'(t) +f(t), \;t \in T, \] where \(A\) and \(B\) are closed linear operators on a Banach space \(X\) satisfying \(D(A) \cap D(B) \neq {0}\), \(\alpha,\beta,\gamma\) are positive constants, \(a \in L^{1}(\mathbb{R}_{+})\) is a scalar-valued kernel, \(f\) is an \(X\)-valued function, with the periodic boundary conditions given by \[ u(0)=u(2 \pi),\;u'(0)=u'(2 \pi),\;u''(0)= u''(2 \pi). \] They prove the well posedness of the above problem in 3 different spaces: Lebesgue Bochner spaces, periodic Besov spaces and periodic Triebel-Lizorkin spaces. For each of the fore mentioned spaces they establish the result in two steps. In the first step, they obtain the Fourier multipliers in the considered space. And in the second step, they establish a necessary and sufficient condition for the well posedness of the problem in terms of the Fourier multipliers described in the first step. They apply their results to a couple of examples.
