Let $A$ be an abelian variety over a function field $K$ of characteristic $p$. The BSD conjecture for $A$ gives a formula for the $L$-value $L(A/K,1)$ in terms of invariants of $A$ and $K$. The $p$-part of the BSD formula can be interpreted in terms of natural perfect complexes of $\mathbb{Z}_p$-modules. The paper under review is concerned with perfect complexes of modules over the Iwasawa algebra $\Lambda(G)$, where $G$ is the Galois group of an extension of $K$. The main Theorem (1.1) establishes the Iwasawa main conjecture for semistable $A$ under certain hypotheses.
