Computer assisted solution of an equality problem of mean values (Q2445202)

In [Acta Math. Hung. 90, No. 4, 271--282 (2001; Zbl 0980.39014)] \textit{Z. Daróczy} and \textit{Z. Páles} introduced the notion of \(M\)-conjugate mean (where \(M\) is a given mean), and studied the question of determination of all conjugate means which are quasi-arithmetic. Generalizations were obtained by \textit{Z. Daróczy} and the first author [Result. Math. 58, No. 1--2, 69--79 (2010; Zbl 1201.39018)]. In the paper under review, the authors introduce the notion of \((M,N)\)-conjugate means, and study problems related to determination of such means which particularly are quasi-arithmetic. When calculating derivatives of higher orders and simplifying the obtained equalities, the authors also use the software package Mathematica 4.0.
