The Cauchy problem for a damped wave equation and a heat equation, both with the nonlinear term \(| u| ^{\rho -1}u,\) where \(\rho \) is a supercritical exponent, are treated. If the initial data are small and slowly decay for \(| x| \rightarrow \infty ,\) then there exist unique global weak solutions of the problems. These solutions have the same asymptotic profile. The proofs are given by elementary estimates on the explicit formulas of solutions.
