The hyperbolic quadric in \(\mathrm{PG}(5,q)\) is denoted by \({\mathcal Q}^+(5,q)\) and the Klein correspondence is a bijection from the set of lines of \(\mathrm{PG}(3,q)\) to the set of points of \({\mathcal Q}^+(5,q)\). The authors give a new infinite family of \({{q^2-1}\over{2}}\)-tight sets in \({\mathcal Q}^+(5,q)\) for \(q \equiv 5,9 \pmod{12}.\) These correspond via the Klein correspondence to Cameron-Liebler line classes of \(\mathrm{PG}(3,q)\) having parameter \({{q^2-1}\over{2}}\), where a set of lines is called a Cameron-Liebler line class if the characteristic vector of lines lies in the row space of the point-line adjacency matrix of \(\mathrm{PG}(d,q).\) The new examples occur as line classes in a tactical decomposition when \(q \equiv 9 \pmod{12}\) which gives an infinite family of counterexamples to a conjecture of \textit{P. J. Cameron} and \textit{R. A. Liebler} [Linear Algebra Appl. 46, 91--102 (1982; Zbl 0504.05015)]. The authors also prove the existence of a set of type \(({{1}\over{2}} (3^{2e} - 3^e),{{1}\over{2}} (3^{2e} + 3^e))\) in the affine plane \(\mathrm{AG}(2,3^{2e})\) for all positive \(e\) which proves a conjecture of Rodgers.
