The finitistic dimension of an algebra \(A\) is the supremum of the projective dimension of finitely generated (left-) modules of finite projective dimension and is denoted by \(\operatorname{fin-dim}A\). It is of great relevance in the domain of homological algebras. Nakayama algebras are algebras for which all indecomposable modules have a unique composition series. Only recently was it proved by \textit{E. Sen} that \(\operatorname{fin-dim}A = \operatorname{fin-dim}A^{\mathrm{op}}\) [``Syzygy filtrations of cyclic Nakayama algebras'', Preprint, \url{arXiv:1903.04645}]. The paper retrieves this fact as a corollary of its study of the delooping invariant \(\operatorname{del}A\), introduced by \textit{V. Gélinas} [``The depth, the delooping leven and the finitistic dimension'', Preprint, \url{arXiv:2004.04828}] as an upper bound on the finitistic dimension. Namely, it proves: \[ \operatorname{fin-pro}A = \operatorname{fin-pro}A^{\mathrm{op}} = \operatorname{del}A. \] The explicit combinatorics construction yields: \[ \operatorname{fin-pro}A = \max_{\{S \text{ simple}\}} \min\{\operatorname{pd}S,\operatorname{pd}IS\}, \] with \(IS\) the injective envelope of \(S\) and \(\operatorname{pd}S\), its projective dimension. The first part of the article defines the objects used and collects the results from the literature, the second constructs explicitly the finistic dimension by Catalan combinatorics methods, and details are available in four appendices. Throughout the text, a wealth of examples facilitates reading.
